Biozone Air Purifier

A very popular model the Biozone Air Purifier incorporates many technologies. The units are lightweight and constructed from aluminium composite. The air purifying process is achieved by photoplasma and photocatalytic ionisation.  Air when channeled through the Biozone air purifiers/cleaners, first enters a chamber where it is exposed to a very intense ultra violet beam of light. In the process bacteria, viruses, mold and allergens are caught, broken down and destroyed. Smoke and dust particles are charged with negative ions and removed from the air and destroyed by oxidation making it unnecessary to ever change filters. Air expelled from the purifier back into the room, still charged with the plasma effect, will continual to neutralise contaminants that come into contact with it.

These sophisticated units are attractive in appearance and weigh in at a mere 6 lbs. Requiring minimum maintenance and having no filters to change the upkeep is simple in the extreme. It is , however necessary to renew the UV lamp on an annual basis.

The World Health Organisation back in 1984 recognised and reported on a phenomenon they called the 'sick building syndrom' (SBS) and held that up to 30% of modern buildings were involved. This syndrom related to the poor quality of air within these buildings. This was due, in part, to the release of gases from materials used in the construction of buildings and the production internal furnishings and fitments. We all recognise the 'new smell' of a cars interior or of a new carpet. These are examples of the release of chemicals from the materials used and is known as 'out gassing'. The occupants of buildings with 'SBS' often suffered and complained of eye, nose and throat irritation whilst others experienced irritation of the skin. These symptoms were often not connected with poor air quality and in many cases ignored.

Lack of air filtration and purification can lead to the build up of dust particles, molds, chemicals, bacteria and other nasties which are injurious to human health.
